When will I receive a receipt or acknowledgment?
Homefront Honor Foundation requires a valid email address so Zeffy and the Foundation can deliver confirmations, receipts, required acknowledgments, and donation-related communications.
For each single monetary or noncash contribution of $250 or more, the donor must obtain a written charitable-contribution acknowledgment to substantiate a federal charitable deduction.
The acknowledgment may state the monetary amount or describe accepted property and will indicate whether the Foundation provided goods or services in exchange.
What is the General Donation Fund?
The General Donation Fund supports the Foundation’s overall charitable mission. Donations made through this page are unrestricted and are not designated for a specific individual, program, event, campaign, or assistance request.
The Foundation’s authorized leadership determines how General Fund resources are allocated among approved charitable activities and reasonable organizational needs. These may include outreach, resource navigation, volunteer support, technology, administration, education, events, program development, and other mission-related priorities.
Separate restricted or campaign-specific donation funds may be created in the future. Those funds will be presented through their own clearly identified donation pages or forms.
Are all donations tax-deductible?
Homefront Honor Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) public charity. Contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by applicable law.
The deductible amount may be reduced when a donor receives goods, services, admission, merchandise, or another benefit in exchange for a payment.
Tax treatment depends on the type of contribution, the donor’s circumstances, recordkeeping, applicable limitations, and current law.
Offer goods, equipment, supplies, space, or professional support.
In-kind donations can help reduce expenses and strengthen the mission. Because needs, storage, transportation, safety, condition, and legal requirements vary, every proposed in-kind gift must be reviewed before it is accepted.
Approval is required first
Please do not purchase, ship, deliver, or leave property for the Foundation until an authorized representative has approved the donation and provided written delivery or transfer instructions.
Submission is not acceptance
Completing the interest form does not transfer ownership, guarantee acceptance, reserve a pickup, create a tax deduction, or require the Foundation to use the item.
The donor determines value
The Foundation may acknowledge and describe accepted property, but it will not appraise the gift or state its fair-market value. Valuation remains the donor’s responsibility.
Services are treated differently
The value of donated time or professional services is generally not deductible as a charitable contribution. Certain unreimbursed expenses may be treated differently under applicable tax rules.

What we need to evaluate a proposed gift.
These expandable sections explain the information, documentation, acceptance process, and tax considerations associated with noncash contributions.

Photographs, receipts, model numbers, specifications, licenses, insurance certificates, ownership documents, or other supporting information may be requested after the initial review.
What items may require special review or may not be accepted?
Items involving health, safety, storage, licensing, transportation, legal ownership, expiration, or regulatory requirements require additional review.
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapons
- Prescription medication or controlled substances
- Hazardous chemicals, fuel, or regulated materials
- Opened, expired, recalled, or contaminated products
- Used medical, mobility, or personal-care equipment

What happens after an in-kind proposal is submitted?
The Foundation may review the proposed gift for mission value, current need, condition, safety, storage, transportation, legal ownership, restrictions, maintenance cost, and available staff or volunteer capacity.
The Foundation may request additional information, photographs, documents, an inspection, professional credentials, proof of insurance, or a conversation before making a decision.
A gift is not accepted until an authorized Foundation representative provides written approval and the property or service is actually received as agreed.
What ownership and use rights apply after acceptance?
Unless the Foundation accepts a written restriction, accepted property becomes the property of Homefront Honor Foundation.
The Foundation may use, distribute, transfer, sell, recycle, dispose of, or otherwise manage accepted property in a manner reasonably consistent with its charitable mission, legal obligations, and operational needs.
Donors should remove personal information, user accounts, passwords, cloud locks, and unnecessary data from computers, phones, storage devices, and other technology before transfer. The Foundation may erase or destroy remaining data when reasonably possible.
What acknowledgment will an in-kind donor receive?
After an approved noncash donation is received, Homefront Honor Foundation may issue a written acknowledgment describing the accepted property.
For a single noncash contribution of $250 or more, the donor should retain a contemporaneous written acknowledgment that describes the property and states whether goods or services were provided in exchange.
The Foundation will not place a fair-market value on donated property in its acknowledgment. The donor is responsible for establishing and substantiating value.
Are additional tax forms or appraisals required?
Additional federal recordkeeping may apply depending on the type of property and the deduction claimed.
- A donor claiming more than $500 in total noncash charitable deductions may need to file Form 8283.
- A donor claiming more than $5,000 for certain donated property generally needs a qualified appraisal and completion of the applicable portion of Form 8283.
- Special rules apply to vehicles, boats, airplanes, inventory, intellectual property, and certain other property.
The Foundation’s signature on a Form 8283 acknowledges receipt of the described property. It does not represent agreement with the donor’s claimed value.
How are donated professional services handled?
Professional services may require verification of licensing, certification, insurance, references, background screening, experience, scope, confidentiality, and conflict-of-interest information.
The value of a person’s donated time or services is generally not deductible as a charitable contribution. Certain unreimbursed expenses directly connected with approved volunteer service may be treated differently.
No person may begin providing services, publicly represent themselves as acting for the Foundation, or access Foundation systems or confidential information without written authorization.
Every thoughtful contribution helps move the mission forward.
Whether you make an unrestricted General Fund donation securely through Zeffy or offer an approved in-kind gift, your support helps Homefront Honor Foundation continue building a stronger network of outreach, service, and community support.
